AUTOBIOGRAPHY:

My name is Elizabeth Soto I was born in Los Angeles C.A., in the winter of December 27, 1991. When I was born I lived in a town named El Sereno, with my mother, father, and two brothers. When I turned four years old, we moved to a place called Visalia, with my mother’s family. After two years due to some financial issues, and my parents getting divorced, my father moved back to Los Angeles. After a year my brothers were getting into some trouble so they ended up moving with my father in Los Angeles. So I lived there until I was in the third grade, then my mother and I went to live my father in L.A., when I went to school I attended “Farmdale” elementary. When I went to the fourth grade my mother moved out, so I lived with my father and my two brothers. Living with my brothers wasn’t so great; my brothers were trouble makers so once I would come home from school they would already be there with a party. This was very hard for me because I was very young and, this caused my brothers to start drinking and getting into more trouble. One day I got home and I got a call asking me where my brother was I said he wasn’t there, a couple of hours later my mother and father come home and tell me that he’s in jail. For a couple of years my brothers were in and out of jail, and because I only lived with my father and he worked late, I was mostly by myself. So I would go to my neighbor’s most of the time, I would love being over there because we would play the whole day and when my father would come home I would already be tired and go to sleep. For five years I lived without my mother although I would still see her some days out of the week, it was still hard to be without her. After nine months my brother was in jail, he sent a letter to my mother telling her how much he changed and that he would like it if she would live with us. That summer my mother moved in with us, in a new house, and the first week that my brother was home, he took us to church. It was my first experience being in a Christian church, but slowly my life started changing, I met new people and everything was becoming better, and better. Now I am in tenth grade and I attend Wilson High School, I am also enrolled in a program called Upward Bound at Occidental college, I play varsity softball and I am in TCAP, the change in my life is great. My oldest brother is married and has two children, my middle brother is currently going to school and trying to plan his life for the future, my parents are still divorced but we have become a better family and we have all changed, and ever since that first day we went to church, we’ve been going ever since.
