Algebra 1: Quadratic Formula
Symbolic reasoning and calculations with symbols are central in algebra. Through the study of algebra, a student develops an understanding of the symbolic language of mathematics and the sciences. In addition, algebraic skills and concepts are developed and used in a wide variety of problem-solving situations
4.0 Students simplify expressions before solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable, such as 3(2x-5) + 4(x-2) = 12.
4.0 In my words: You simplify the problem by using distribute property (you multiply the number inside to the numbers in the parenthesis. Then combie like terms and as you combine you get the answer showing if its true or false. As you finish you show if it's an linear equations and inequalities.
Vocabulary
- equalitities-A statement, usually an equation, that one thing equals another.
- inequalities- An algebraic relation showing that a quantity is greater than or less than another quantity.
- distribute property you multiply form the paranthesis
- variable- a letter that takes the place of a number
